Bio
Tarynn is a character on Red Star Passes MUSH. Like most of the other players have done for their characters, I have created this blog for the purpose of compiling roleplay logs and character information.

Description
Brown. Brown on brown. It's not that Tarynn's dark-skinned--she isn't, save for the thorough, even tan common to any hardworking holder folk worth their salt--but she's dark-haired, and dark-eyed, and dark-browed. Her mahogany hair, typically restrained in a bun or a plait or a low-necked ponytail, is well-tended but not meticulously so; her irises are a crisp chocolate brown; her brows might have seen a plucking or two, but have largely been allowed to grow thick and expressive. She is of average height and build, though her hips are wide and tend to an easy sway. But while her coloring, and her oval-shaped face, and her full mouth, and her straight nose and dimpled cheeks might all suggest an open approachability on anyone else, something about her nearly forbids it: something in her posture or manner seems rigid, distracted, off-putting. She is pretty, perhaps, but not warm.

She dresses simply, but flatteringly, in earthtones and complimentary textures: a white cotton blouse beneath a suede brown vest, cut to gently hug her figure; sturdy canvas pants, a shade darker than the vest; and brown boots, snugly tailored but supple from years of wear and tear, into which her slacks are tucked. A drawstring pouch hangs from a dark leather belt that's seen better days. She wears no jewelry, and there are no scars or holes to indicate she has ever had pierced ears. She is in her early 20s.

Info
Tarynn is native to Benden Hold, the eldest of four and only daughter to a respectable Farmer who oversees the Hold's walnut orchards. Her mother is a former Harper apprentice. Of Tarynn's three brothers, the eldest, Norivan, is a journeyman Farmcrafter like his father; the second-youngest, Itragan, Impressed to a blue at Ista and became I'gan, but died in a *between* accident shortly after the eruption of the volcano; the third-youngest, Garinor, was a candidate for Benden's current clutch.

For various ideological and personal reasons, the subject of a Hold's duty to its Weyr is a difficult one in Tarynn's family, and dragonriders are infrequently discussed there. Garinor accepted Search against the wishes of her father, whose relationship with I'gan was already becoming strained at the time of his death. Tarynn's own future as a journeywoman scribe for the Harper Hall was cut short by her brother's accident, making it difficult for her to reconcile the necessity of dragons with the misfortune they seem to have brought upon her family.

The choice was about to become a lot easier. Through a series of unfortunate and dire miscommunications, Tarynn inadvertently joined the ranks of Benden's female greenriders--and where she succeeded, her brother failed. Having thoroughly muddled her family's honor and further exacerbated her father's negative perception of the Weyr, she is still as devoted to Iramyth as any other rider to his or her own dragon, but must now wade through a whole new series of problems--emotional, physical, mental, philosophical--that she certainly never anticipated.
